Colors of Our Families
Our Family Coalition, Pact, and iPride are proud to offer this
groundbreaking series that will offer a supportive educational
environment to LGBTQ adoptive fathers, mothers, parents and
caregivers. Participants will explore race, color, culture, ethnicity, adoption, and parenting.
This group will meet for 8 consecutive Saturdays beginning April 4th.
Meetings are from10am-12pm at the San Francisco LGBT Community Center
(1800 Market at Octavia).
Free childcare will be provided.
The cost for 8 sessions is a suggested sliding scale of $120, and $50
for each additional parent/caregiver (170 for a couple)no one will be

Who:
The Spring 2009 group is for LGBTQ parents of transracilly adopted
children between the ages of 0 to 8. (Families with older children,
please let us know of your interest as we hope to offer future groups
for other age ranges.)

International adoption issues
Domestic adoption issues
Mixed race identity
Racial/ethnic identity development
Parenting strategies
Working with schools and other outsiders
Being a visible family
Making connections with your child's ethnic or racial community
Facilitators
Groups lead by Martha Rynberg, a peer facilitator, who is also an LGBTQ
transracial adoptive parent will include transracially-adopted adults
as well as other guest speakers with related expertise.
