Cheryl Troup joins Our Family Coalition with over 16 years of experience in the LGBTQ community from her work in Detroit, MI and the Bay Area. In Detroit, she volunteered with the Human Rights Campaign serving as the co-chair of the annual gala and with Affirmations Community Center mentoring young women. She has been a resident of the East Bay since relocating from Detroit 12 years ago and has been very active with Sistah’s Steppin in Pride, East Bay Church of Religious Science, and the Oakland LGBT Roundtable. Cheryl has a degree in business administration from Eastern Michigan University. 

As the East Bay Program Coordinator, Cheryl is responsible for implementing monthly educational programs, developing community events, and conducting outreach to current parents, prospective parents and parents-of-color in the East Bay. 

She currently lives in Oakland with her partner.
